Bad Beat. When the odds to win are in your favor and yet your hand ends up getting beaten, that is what is known as a “bad beat”.

Kicker. A tie-breaking card that is used to complete such hands as two pair, three of a kind, and four of a kind. Five-card hands do not make use of a kicker.
Limp. When you call the minimum bet to play in a hand, that is known as “limping into the hand.”
Muck. To fold your hand without showing your cards.
Nuts. When you have the unbeatable hand at the table, you are said to be holding the “nuts”
